Master of Counselling Psychology, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Registered Clinical Counsellor – Approved Clinical Supervisor
Roxie brings over 25 years of experience to the team and takes an eclectic approach to therapeutic work. She draws on her many years of experience and a deep trust in the resiliency of the human spirit.
Roxie works with couples, adults, youth, and children, supporting individuals who experience PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and challenges related to life transitions. Using her training in Somatic Experiencing®, Roxie works with dysregulation in the brain and nervous system, helping to restore balance and support healing.
Most recently, Roxie has been completing a certificate in Somatic Touch, a hands-on therapy developed to release physical and emotional trauma stored deep in the body and to regulate the nervous system. Somatic Touch can be used for many types of trauma, from childhood abuse to coping with illness.
Roxie is registered to provide services for the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC), and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC). She has completed training in Somatic Experiencing®, Solution-Focused Therapy, Expressive Play, Self-Regulation Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Gottman Level One Marital Therapy. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and an approved clinical supervisor through BCACC.
Roxie is actively involved in the community, sitting at the planning table for the local Learning Circle and regularly attending Ending Violence Conferences. A strong believer in lifelong learning, she now volunteers in Kelowna as an assistant for local Somatic Experiencing® training.
As you may have guessed, Roxie loves what she does. For her, being a therapist is more than a job—it reflects a core part of who she is and her desire to connect with people in a real and meaningful way. She values the therapy process for its authentic, face-to-face conversations in an increasingly wired world and feels deeply honoured to walk alongside people during difficult periods in their lives.
Roxie lives in Kelowna with her husband and two dogs. She aspires to one day becoming an accomplished horsewoman like her granddaughter. Her happy place is Cranbrook, on her daughter’s acreage among the chickens.
When she’s not working, Roxie enjoys spending time with her dogs, skiing, boating with her family, and sharing joyful moments with her grandchildren.
